Several years ago my gardening wife brought in the first two nasturtium flowers she had grown. She said they were for us to eat right now. Nasturtium really set off a fancy salad and make it even fancier. We toasted the flowers then popped them into our mouths. I was chewing away. That’s when I noticed my nasturtium was buzzing. I spit it on the floor- fast. Then I stepped on it. I felt so bad for the bee. It didn’t ask for a ride into my mouth but that’s what it got. I also felt very lucky I didn’t get stung. I still eat nasturtium. I just check them for bees first.
