I grew up around
soy beans, soy beans
and more soy beans.
My Daddy fixed windows
during the day.
My Daddy planted
his soy beans
after dinner.
After the rain
I grew up walking
barefoot in the wet clay
careful not to step
on soy beans.
I left foot prints
like a baby dinosaur
in the mud
in the mud
in my blood.
